Welcome! I’m Nicole, the lady behind Finished with Salt. I’m a born and raised Oregonian. I’ve spent most of my life tinkering around in the kitchen. Obsessed with food and all it’s social forms of tradition and culture. I enjoy learning about food history and different techniques used in traditional cooking methods.

I am a busy Momma to a toddler who loves flavorful food which is reflected in my quick and simple recipes. I hope you love them as much as we do!

I started this blog in 2018 as a creative outlet after so much thought went into picking out my site name! Felt like naming a child! I decided on “Finished with Salt” for a few reasons. First, I’m obsessed with salt….. food NEEDS salt, I do not enjoy bland food! I also chose to dedicate this space and my work unto the Lord and in doing so a few verses came to mind, the first from Leviticus and you know any blog named after a verse in Leviticus means serious business!

“As an offering of first fruits you shall bring them to the Lord, but they shall not ascend for a soothing aroma on the altar. Every grain offering of yours, moreover, you shall season with salt, so that the salt of the covenant of your God shall not be lacking from your grain offering; with all your offerings you shall offer salt.”  Leviticus 2:12-13

“Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person.”  Colossians 4:6
