Paleo Meatloaf Ingredients

  • ground beef (this is my favorite grass-fed and finished meat source!)
  • onion
  • egg
  • coconut aminos
  • fish sauce
  • unrefined sea salt
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • garlic powder
  • tomato paste
  • apple cider vinegar
  • green onions

How To Make Whole30 Asian Inspired Meatloaf

This Whole30 meatloaf is easy to make and packed with flavor! Just a few simple steps and you have a moist and flavorful paleo meatloaf the whole family will enjoy.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine all meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl. Using your hands (YES, your hands!) knead the mixture until all ingredients are evenly disbursed.

Choose to line the loaf pan with either parchment paper or grease with ghee, bacon fat or avocado oil. Once lined or greased, transfer the meat mixture to a 9×5 loaf pan. Bake for 45 minutes.

While the meatloaf is baking, combine your glaze and set aside. After the 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and carefully tilt it ever-so-slightly over the sink to discard the accumulated cooking liquid in the bottom of the pan.

Spoon the glaze over the top of the meatloaf and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.

While the meatloaf finishes in the oven prepare your green onions. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and immediately sprinkle with green onions. Allow the meatloaf to rest and cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Can I make this a Venison Meatloaf?

I’ve made this recipe many times and it’s a great ground venison recipe. Use ground venison and this recipe makes a delicious and flavorful venison meatloaf with no other changes needed.

Paleo Meatloaf Recipe

This paleo meatloaf is also Whole30, gluten free, sugar free, soy free, keto and low-carb! It’s the perfect easy healthy meal customizable for the whole family.

  • For Keto you could serve this meatloaf with cauliflower mash or my Roasted Asparagus Recipe!
  • For Paleo serve with any of the sides mentioned above or with a Sweet Potato.

Description

When forces unite! This Whole30 Asian Inspired Meatloaf combines the soul of American comfort foods with the flavors of asian cuisine to make one spectacular dish!

Ingredients

Scale

Meatloaf:

  • 2 pounds ground beef or ground venison (linked is my favorite grass-fed and finished beef source)
  • 1/2 medium sized onion, finely diced
  • 1 egg
  • 3 Tablespoons coconut aminos
  • 1 Tablespoon fish sauce (this is the only brand I’ve found to be sugar free and Whole30 compliant)
  • 1/2 teaspoon unrefined sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Glaze:

  • 3 Tablespoons coconut aminos
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

Garnish:

  • 2 green onions, snipped with kitchen shears

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Combine all meatloaf ingredients in a large bowl. Using your hands (YES, your hands!) knead the mixture until all ingredients are evenly disbursed.
  3. Choose to line the loaf pan with either parchment paper or grease with ghee, bacon fat or avocado oil. Once lined or greased, transfer the meat mixture to a 9×5 loaf pan.
  4. Bake for 45 minutes.
  5. While the meatloaf is baking, combine your glaze and set aside. (*Make double the called for glaze if you’d like extra for re-glazing after the meatloaf finishes cooking or to use for dipping – if you are a “sauce person” I recommend doubling the glaze.)
  6. After the 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and carefully tilt it ever-so-slightly over the sink to discard the accumulated cooking liquid in the bottom of the pan.
  7. Then spoon the glaze over the top of the meatloaf and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
  8. While the meatloaf finishes in the oven prepare your green onions.
  9. Remove the meatloaf from the oven and immediately sprinkle with green onions.
  10. Allow the meatloaf to rest and cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Enjoy!

I have never bought fish sauce, so I substituted Tastefully Simple Thai Peanut Sauce. I also don’t use tomato paste so I substituted ketchup in the glaze. It was very good!

Oh my gosh, I made this tonight and YUM!!! I for sure didn’t think it would stay together in loaf form since there isn’t anything “binding” in it (I.e. breadcrumbs), but it stayed together perfectly and was sooooo good! Highly recommend and thank you for the recipe!

Hi! What are your thoughts on substituting ground turkey for the beef? Thanks!

Hi Nancy! I think ground turkey would work just fine. You may want to drizzle in an teaspoon or two of avocado oil to replace a bit of the flat but I think it would be delicious! Let me know how it turns out.
