Description

The perfect easy Cream Cheese Frosting Recipe for cinnamon rolls, carrot cake, cookies and cupcakes made in just minutes and requiring only 4 ingredients!


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature (to make dairy-free use this cream cheese)
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, room temperature (to make dairy free use this butter)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/22 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, add the room temperature softened cream cheese and salted butter and whip with an electric hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the vanilla extract and sift in the powdered sugar, then on low-speed, mix until the frosting is fully combined and smooth. Scrap down the sides of the bowl while mixing so that all the ingredients are incorporated. The frosting is ready once it’s smooth.
  3. Use a frosting spatula or piping bag and tips to frost your favorite baked goods. Eat and enjoy!

Notes

  • Salted Butter: If you aren’t using salted butter, be sure to add 1/4 teaspoon salt to this recipe.
  • Frosting Quantity: This recipe will frost either one batch of 12 cinnamon rolls, one 2-layer 8″ or 9″ cake, one 9×13 sheet cake, or 12-18 cupcakes.
