Zoodle ramen + Thai citrus fusion with spicy garli Zoodle ramen + Thai citrus fusion with spicy garlic notes. Yep that would have been a better name for this Shrimp with Zucchini Noodle bowl but apparently no one is searching for that. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Anyway it’s good, REAL good and I make a version of it almost once a week. Bacteria gets a bad wrap. 🦠 It is often misunde Bacteria gets a bad wrap. 🦠 It is often misunderstood and villainized as the enemy that must be eliminated. But bacteria is not bad. We are made of bacteria.

“Good bacteria” is needed to balance “harmful bacteria”, it is the imbalance of bacteria that is dangerous. An imbalanced microbiome can contribute to inflammation, mental health decline, poor immune function and vitamin and mineral deficiencies. .

When balanced, bacteria serves us well and protects us well. It’s their job. Bacteria is crucial to every system of the body. The microbiome is involved in the circulatory, digestive, immune, neuroendocrine, musculoskeletal and many other systems. .

Here are some of the ways you can support the balance of your body’s microbiome:
.
🌿Consume a variety of whole foods.
🌿Eat lots of plants, organic when you are able.
🌿Consume more prebiotic fiber in foods like onion, garlic, asparagus, banana, artichoke and apple.
🌿Include fermented foods in your meals like sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir, etc.
🌿Drink clean water free of toxic additives.
🌿Sleep well, set yourself a routine bedtime. Rest is best when your body can predict it is coming. 🌿Spend time in nature.
🌿Cut out artificial sweeteners.
🌿Choose to wash your hands over sanitizing when possible, use natural sanitizers or wipes free of triclosan when hand washing isn’t an option.
🌿Select cleaning products that work without compromising your health. For this I recommend the EWG Healthy Living app that allows you to scan products for a rating. 🌿Reserve the use of antibiotics for when they are truly needed. 🌿Choose what you stress over. If you can’t control it, let it go. .
