How To Make Bacon Wrapped Dates Stuffed With Goat Cheese

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

Slice the dates down the middle but not all the way through to the other side and remove the pit in each date.

Stuff each date with a enough goat cheese to fill the inside space while still being able to press the date mostly closed.

Wrap each stuffed date with a cut slice of bacon around the center and secure the bacon with a toothpick.

Evenly space the bacon wrapped dates on your baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove the dates from the oven and use the toothpick to flip each date over to the over side.

Return them to the oven and bake for another 8-10 minutes.

Once finished baking, remove the dates from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes before serving. (You can transfer the dates to a paper towel to absorb the excess bacon grease or serve as is.) Enjoy!

Bacon Wrapped Dates with Cream Cheese

If goat cheese isn’t your thing or maybe you just can’t find it in your local store cream cheese is a great substitution and alternative. The creamy simple flavor of cream cheese compliments the chewy sweet date and salty smokey bacon perfectly!

What Makes These Bacon Wrapped Dates So Good

Paleo Bacon Wrapped Dates

To make these Paleo Bacon Wrapped Dates, use sugar free bacon and replace the goat cheese with a dairy free cream cheese such as Kite Hill or omit the cheese completely for a delicious paleo snack or appetizer!

How To Make Whole30 Bacon Wrapped Dates

All you need to do is omit the goat cheese and this appetizer becomes Whole30 compliant when using sugar free bacon. Simply remove the pit from the date, wrap in bacon, secure the bacon with a toothpick and bake according to the direction below. It’s so simple and still offers that sweet and salty combination we all love so much!

What Are The Best Dates To Use

I’m a huge fan of medjool dates, they are soft, creamy and still quite “meaty”. I use them in this recipe, when I make homemade nut milks and in all my smoothies!

Can I Make This Appetizer Ahead Of Time

This appetizer is best served warm out of the oven. But if you need to prep it ahead of time you can stuff the dates, roll them in bacon, secure the bacon with a toothpick and store them uncooked in a sealed container in the fridge until you are ready to bake them. Once removing from the fridge, I’d recommend assembling the wrapped dates on a baking sheet and letting them sit on the counter for about 5 minutes before baking.
