What Do Radishes Taste Like
Fresh radishes have a sharp peppery taste and are very crunchy. I love them marinated in lime juice with a pinch of salt and added to tacos or on top of Tortilla-less Chicken Soup. Roasting radishes changes their flavor completely, they get soft on the inside and become very mild in flavor and creamy in texture. They are the most similar vegetable I’ve found to a potato.
Each radish color pictured here has a different flavor, with the white being the most bitter and the red being the voted the best flavor in my house. The red radishes are the most mild and slightly sweet of the bunch.
Health Benefits of Radishes
Red radishes are packed with Vitamins E, A, C, B6 and K. They are also high in antioxidants, fiber, zinc, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, copper, calcium, iron and manganese. Radishes are a true powerhouse of nutrition!
Are Radishes Keto?
Yes, radishes are keto! One cup of radishes has only 2 grams of net carbs and one pound of radishes has 20 grams of carbs and 10 grams of fiber making radishes perfect for a low carb and keto diet.
