Whole30 Cauliflower Mash
Whole30 Cauliflower Mash is the perfect whole30 side dish that you are sure to make long after you’ve finished your round of Whole30! I attribute the unbelievable flavor and texture of this dish to the combination of the bone broth and coconut milk. This creamy side dish rivals my favorite Whole30 Mashed Potatoes and Whole30 Gravy and goes perfectly with Whole30 Pork Tenderloin.

Ingredients to make Paleo Cauliflower Mash
- 1 head of cauliflower
- unrefined sea salt
- ghee
- chicken bone broth
- unsweetened full fat coconut milk
- unrefined sea salt
- garlic powder
- black pepper
How to make Dairy Free Cauliflower Mash
This dairy free cauliflower mash is easy to make and the perfect side dish. Begin by bringing 4 quarts of water plus 1 teaspoon of salt to a boil. Once boiling, carefully add the cauliflower florets and cook until fork tender, about 10-15 minutes.
Once the florets are fork tender, drain the water and transfer the cauliflower to a food processor with the chicken bone broth, coconut milk, salt, garlic powder and black pepper. Process until smooth, taste and add more salt if needed. Serve warm and enjoy!
Tips for making Healthy Cauliflower Mash
- Coconut milk – I recommend this brand of coconut milk since it’s incredibly creamy with a very mild coconut taste that doesn’t show up in the finished dish. This cauliflower mash doesn’t taste like coconut when you use this brand. In place of coconut milk you can also use Nut Pods Original creamer.
- Bone Broth – A low sodium chicken stock works well in place of chicken bone broth.
- Ghee – Ghee is lactose free but not dairy free, to make this recipe dairy free use a dairy free butter such as Miyoko’s Cultured Vegan Butter.
- Food Processor – You can also use a blender and blend until smooth.
- Keto – If you’re looking to make this recipe keto and full dairy you can use butter in place of the ghee and heavy cream in place of the coconut milk.
Keto Cauliflower Mash
This Whole30 Cauliflower Mash is Keto and low carb with only 5 grams of net carbs per serving! If you’re ok with dairy and not on a round of Whole30 you can substitute the coconut milk for heavy cream and the ghee for grass-fed butter. To increase the fat content you could also add 2-4 Tablespoons of cream cheese during processing to blend it right into the cauliflower for a fuller fat Keto Cauliflower Mash.
