Paleo Hot Chocolate
I don’t know about you but as soon as the first day of fall hits I’m reaching for a warm cozy beverage to slowly sip on. And not much has changed now that we’re in the middle of winter. I love this single serve recipe for Paleo Hot Chocolate because it’s quick, easy and only has a few simple ingredients!
No unpronounceable fillers or impending sugar crash. Just a warm satisfying beverage that checks off that “treat” box as you relax with a book, your favorite movie or a child hanging off your leg…. you know, whatever your reality looks like! 😉

What Ingredients Are Needed To Make Paleo Hot Chocolate
To make this yummy Dairy Free Hot Chocolate you’ll need:
- dairy free milk
- unsweetened cocoa powder
- pure maple syrup
- ground cinnamon
- You can also add in collagen peptides and peppermint extract for a Minty Paleo Hot Chocolate.
How To Make Hot Chocolate Dairy Free
Simple mix all the ingredients together in a small sauce pan and whisk together until hot. And definitely feel free to top with my Homemade Vanilla Marshmallows. (They are paleo too and oh so easy to make!)
Can I Make A Large Batch Of Paleo Hot Cocoa
Yes, definitely! This recipe allows you to make a single serving but feel free to multiply it by however much you want! My recipe card even allows you to select 2 or 3 times and multiplies it for you! You’ll find that option on the right side of the recipe card below.

Ingredients
- 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk or nut milk of choice
- 1 Tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup
- dash of ground cinnamon
- *optional – 1 Tablespoon collagen peptides (omit if vegan)
- *optional – 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat and whisk until completely smooth.
- Once smooth and heated through to your desired temperature pour the hot chocolate into your favorite mug.
- Top with a dash of ground cinnamon or whipped coconut cream and enjoy!

This looks really good but I’m curious as to why it’s so high in calories and fat? Do you use full fat coconut milk?

Hi Becky, great question. Yes, the nutrition facts were calculated using full-fat coconut milk. Using another milk would bring the calorie count way down. I hope that helps!
